3M AND WOOLS OF NEW ZEALAND REJOIN AS ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

3M and Wools of New Zealand have both rejoined the Carpet Foundation as Associate Funding Partners with immediate effect.

3M is a well known name in the carpet industry and their decision to rejoin is testimony to their desire to grow their business with independent retailers and the top manufacturers. Commenting on the move, Peter Denhard, Group Sales manager, Protective Materials & Consumer Specialities said: "We are very keen to re-establish our links with the UK carpet industry and see our involvement with the Carpet Foundation as the credible way to build up trade support. Our activity will be both manufacturer and retailer focussed and we look forward to getting involved with the Foundation."

For Wools of New Zealand, it is the collective industry strength provided by the Carpet Foundation allied to the access to over 1000 independent retailers that is the attraction. Steven Parsons, Product Development Manager, said: "We see the partnership with the Carpet Foundation as an important ingredient in our mission to reposition wool as the fibre of choice in the world’s best carpets. There are also several major issues on the environmental and technical side that could profoundly affect the UK carpet industry that it has to be to our advantage to work closely with the UK industry's lead body. We also see great potential working with the Registered Specialists to enhance the message about wool."
