Trends for 2008

Consumers are becoming increasingly confident of their own individual style and we are seeing people stamping their own personality and character on their interior via the floor. This is demonstrated in the co-ordination of pattern and plain carpets and the overall resurgence in popularity of patterned carpet where designs are influenced by motifs and references from the past as well as ethnic designs but in a soft contemporary form.

In terms of colour, while neutrals continue to be popular there is not only a move towards slightly darker colours in the beige bank such as velvety taupes, deep pewters and even soft greys but there is also a definite move to stronger colours generally. Aubergine and plum are increasingly prominent while for a softer more up to the minute look ,duck egg blue is popular and versatile.

Confidence and belief in one self is generally being reflected in interiors.
